DAY 1. PUENTE GENIL - LUCENA - PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA
Pick up of travellers or group at Malaga-Antequera or Puente Genil train station (other points please consult) and transfer to Puente Genil visiting its historic centre, an Easter “cuarteles” and a local winery with tasting included. Transfer to the Roman Villa of Fuente Alamo and visit of this important archaeological site.
After the visit, arrival in Lucena and lunch. Visit to the Castle of Moral, walk with exteriors of the Main Church and the Palace of the Counts of Santa Ana. Visit to a family winery with wine tasting. We will finish with the views from the Sanctuary of Araceli.
Continuation to Priego de Córdoba. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2. PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA - ALCALÁ LA REAL - BAENA - PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA
Breakfast and departure in the morning to Alcalá la Real with a visit to its Monumental Complex, the Fortaleza de la Mota. An extraordinary defensive site that forms part of the history of Al Andalus and the new Christian era. Walk through the historic centre of the city. We will then visit a winery and its vineyards. A family business where we will be introduced to the world of wine and the high quality of this local production. Lunch included in a traditional restaurant with dishes made with local products.
In the afternoon visit to Baena and its historic centre including the Archaeological and Historical Museum of La Tercia.
Return to Priego de Córdoba, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 3. PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA - CABRA - PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA
Visit of Priego with access and entrance to the Castle, walk through the Barrio de la Villa, Fuente del Rey and visit to the Church of the Asunción. Dinner in a centrally located restaurant with a traditional menu.
In the afternoon we will visit Cabra through an outdoor walk through its historical and patrimonial quarter, ending with a stop for coffee in some of its most emblematic cafés.
Return to Priego de Córdoba and dinner at leisure. Accommodation.
DAY 4. PRIEGO DE CÓRDOBA - OSUNA - CARMONA
Breakfast and departure to Osuna, where we will be able to get a close look at its collegiate church. Walk through the city centre to visit the most emblematic streets full of baroque façades. Visit to the City Museum. Traditional lunch.
Arrival in Carmona and installation in the hotel. Afternoon visit of Carmona with a walk through its streets, exterior view of its churches and stately homes. Visit to the Alcazar de la Puerta de Sevilla and the Alcazar del Rey Don Pedro, currently the city’s Parador, with a brief stop for refreshments and to enjoy the views over the countryside.
DAY 5. CARMONA - UTRERA - CARMONA
After breakfast we set off for Utrera. This city is the cradle of flamenco and has a unique heritage jewel: the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Consolación. After this visit we will go to the historic centre to have the experience of seeing and hearing the ‘campaneros’ (bell ringers) of the Church of Santiago. Lunch in Utrera.
Return to Carmona after lunch and free afternoon to enjoy the hotel and the city. Dinner at leisure and accommodation.
DAY 6. CARMONA - ÉCIJA - CARMONA
Continuation to Ecija, the city of towers and spires. Visit of its historic centre including the Palace of Peñaflor. We will walk through its streets full of churches and convents. Lunch in a central restaurant in Ecija. Time for refreshments in the Plaza de España.
Return to Carmona. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 7. CARMONA - CIUDADES DE ORIGEN
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Seville Airport or Train station. (other destinations on request)
