Breakfast and departure to Lucena. During the Middle Ages, Lucena became a prosperous place where Christian, Jewish and Arab cultures came together. This has left a deep heritage mark. We must highlight its Jewish legacy, ‘The Pearl of Sepharad’, as it is known by the Sephardic culture. From the Jewish Necropolis to its historic centre, this legacy, hidden from the eyes of the visitor, has been recovered, but which the people of Lucena themselves have sometimes preserved without being aware of it.

Visiting the Necropolis, the square where we find the old Synagogue, nowadays the Church of San Mateo, its central streets where you can read its name in Hebrew. But we also get to know its craftsmen who continue and keep alive through the good work of their hands, typical and daily objects of the houses of the citizens who preserved them without knowing the real meaning, just following a tradition from the past. We visit goldsmiths and potters and learn about their work first hand. The gastronomy present in Lucena has an important Sephardic background, especially savoury and sweet dishes, which continue to form part of the table of the most traditional families. We visit a winery and taste its wines while enjoying the unique voices that sing to us in Ladino and take us back to another era.

Return to Cordoba, dinner at the end of the tour and accommodation.
